From Kitchen Table to Global Brand: 10 Years of Superfurry Beard Care

Ten years ago, I was mixing beard balm in my kitchen with raw shea butter from Ghana, beeswax straight from a local beekeeper, and oils I'd picked up at the organic market.

Seven months into what would become Superfurry Beard Care, I thought I had it all figured out. The products worked, customers were happy, and everything felt beautifully simple. Then a conversation with Uzepia.nl changed everything.

The Wake-Up Call

They told me about European Cosmetic Safety regulations. Suddenly, my innocent operation needed proper documentation, certified ingredients, and a whole lot of paperwork. It could have been overwhelming, but instead, it lit a fire.

Within three months, I had everything in order – all the required documentation to legally produce beard care products, and partnerships with certified wholesalers for cosmetic-grade ingredients. In early 2016, I made it official and registered Superfurry with the Chamber of Commerce.

The Journey Since Then

Looking back, it's been a wild ride. There have been plenty of learning moments (some harder than others), but the enthusiasm never wavered. As Trixie Mattel once said: "Success is going from failure to failure without losing enthusiasm." That quote has stuck with me through every challenge.

What really made the difference? The people. The friends who believed in the vision. The customers who took a chance on a small brand. The advisors who shared their expertise. Every person who's been part of this journey has helped shape what Superfurry is today.

What's Next

As we head into 2026, I'm launching a new webshop designed for a more global market. The beard care world has evolved massively over the past decade, and so has Superfurry. We're ready to reach new customers who are looking for quality beard care that's made with both passion and professionalism.

Here's the thing I've learned over these ten years: You are the "Super" in Superfurry. Without you believing in these products, none of this would exist.
